Jonathan Collins: Invisible
It's crazy how in life we strive to be normal, nobody in life really ever strives to be the one that sticks out. The one who everybody sees as odd or abnormal. The world has grown accustom to a lifestyle the limits it's abiillity to grow. You would think that the world have seen by now that by allowing people to be odd intellectual thinking can begin. While I am not talking about allowing people to be crazy, I do believe that people who are allowed to freely express and be themselves could inevitably lead to a wiser and more engaged nation.

i think your absolutely right,i think people are so used to the same thing, everyone is used to the same routine it seems, its rare to see some one strive to be driffrent. I think it would be great for others to step aside and make a mark in this world and not be affraid.

Jonathan,
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing to me how much in school we reinforce the "ant" mentality -- Back in line! Whenever someone deviates from the path, we fear them and work hard to get them back in line with the others. This is so strange when you consider that almost everyone we consider a real success got there by not staying in line. I think about this a lot as both a teacher and a parent.
I agree with the wonderful Mrs. Elliott :)
ReplyDeleteAllowing for people to grow into themselves and find their purpose in life is like letting a caterpillar turn into a butterfly. We all need to accept everyone and their differences, its the only way the world will grow as a unit.

It is interesting that people always want more diversity but never really strive to differ themselves in any way. It also seems that the people that don't care what other think of them and try not to just fit in with everybody usually end up being happier people overall.
