The people I love the best
are active in their everyday life
and don't wait for things to happen,
but take charge themselves.
The people I love the best
are involved in sports, clubs, or hobbies,
and who don't simply sit around on the couch
watching t.v all the time.
The people I love the best
stand up for what they believe in
and don't back down to anyone,
no matter what.
The people I love the best
are not afraid to be themselves
and don't care what others think of them.
The people I love the best
don't hesitate to take risks,
they live for today and not for tomorrow.
Those are the people I love the best.

Jonathan: Drama
In the past we as aclass have been maping the diffrences between drama, poetry, and novels. Whether it's emotions next to character development or length next to chapters, drama was the only form of writing which expresses the human emotion to the fullest. When I watch a movie that entangles a well known experience, being either a dieing family member or a child without a father, I quickly develop a connection with the drama I am more so becoming apart of rather than watching. What makes drama better than poetry and novels is that drama doesn't necissarily focus on the development of the characters rather the development of the audience. By doing this, drama insures that not only what the audience is watching will be memorable but will also leave the audience with something to enrich their lives with in the coming future.
The social outing
Our team took a trip on a friday morning to corky's diner for our social outing. It really allowed my fellow team members and i to connect with one another outside of the classroom. We were not confined to discussing a peice of literature or working on a project in class. We were able to just be ourselves and learn about each other and who we really were as people instead of students in an english class. This brought our group closer together and actually made working on our class projects easier since we had a better understanding of who our team members were.

Voice-BrendaSamaan
When one reads a text, whose voice is narrating the text in one's head? That voice is genuine to all readers and writers a like. In class, we are learning how using our voices can help augment our confidence in our writing, or vice versa (how writing can help our confidence show in our voices). This is significant because college admissions will not find genuineness in our personal statements if we sound generic, therefore the use of strong voices make our writing (and therefore, us) more appealing and unique, more needed by these admission boards. How can we make our voices strong? In my opinion, in order to make one's voice strong, one must be confident in his/her writing style and use elevated vocabulary correctly in order to signify confidence in what one is trying to argue in his/her statement.

The Definition of Literature: Christiana Rodriguez
Literature is something that is truly undefinable. It can mean different things to different people. However, for me, literature means being able to escape from the stressful ways of the everyday life and being able to reflect on our past so that we can move on in the future. Life is like a roller coaster, it has its highs and lows and sometimes it would be nice to get off every know and then to catch our breath. That is what literature can do for us. It can take us out of the everyday so that we can see a relax and ponder life as we know it. If we did not have literature to do this for us, then imagine all the rage and anger people would have because they have no outlet. Another way literature is important is that it allows us to review the past, because lets face it, the past makes up who we are today. So it is important that we keep up with what has happened, so that we can be prepared for what will happen. Literature is a unique tool that we should all take advantage of, so that we can fully maintain sanity throughout our entire life. Literature truly is one of the main things that has shaped us to be who we are here today.

Childhood Today - Stephanie Kang
Childhood in today's society is hectic and chaotic. Kids have more expectations for the future and many higher standards. Parents want their children to excel in everything from school, sports, and other activities. Of course, they are also expected to get into a decent college. In result, they do not have a true childhood. Pressure and stress replace the fun kids are supposed to have. It hinders them from experiencing the genuine joy of childhood to its fullest. Our society today causes the loss of innocence and the carfree nature of children.

Just Like A Game: Jonathan Collins
Alice in many cases can at times become overwhelmed with her thought process, being she tends to think about a task or idea that has nothing to do with her current state. Which in many cases of the story leads her to beat herself up because she becomes overwhelmed with her current state of "reality". For example, when she was trying to escape the room with the mouse, instead of trying to escape the sinking room she insisted on finding out whether or not the mouse liked cats. Taking her thought process and applying it to how i feel in some circumstances, I can understand how thinking about something totally different than what is going on can allow us to temporaily subdue our overwhelmed state of being. This comes into play in my life when playing football, because at times the task at hand or the situation we are in can feel constricting, so simply thinking about something other than football allows me to decrease the amount of preasure that is currently taking affect. HOwever, sometimes I can become so concielled within my thoughts that they can also overwhelm me. Which just goes to show that all thought processes can potentially distract you.
